PROPERTIES:  A white, crystalline powder, a characteristic caramel-butterscotch odor and suggestive of a fruity-strawberry aroma in dilute solution. One gram dissolves in about 82ml of water, in 21ml of 95% ethanol, in 80ml of glycerin and 28ml of propylene glycol . Its melting point is at about 160~164℃.
